Cameron Crookston’s research examines drag at the intersection of theatre history, popular culture, LGBTQ2+ history, and queer cultural memory. He holds a PhD in drama, theatre and performance studies, and sexual diversity studies from the University of Toronto.

Cameron has designed and taught courses on the sexual and gender diversity histories, queer theatre and performance studies, LGBTQ2+ community engagement, and the history of drag at The University of Toronto and The University of British Columbia. He also facilitates workshops on post secondary education for graduate students and new course instructors. Outside of academia Cameron has served as a media consultant, a guest speaker at LGBTQ2+ community events, and provides equity and diversity training for organizations looking to form meaningful engagements with LGBTQ2+ communities.
